Birthday party photos from everyone who was there.
The person whose birthday it is barely sees their own party. Their friends see all of it, from the candles going out to the speech that went on too long. Put a QR code by the drinks and every photo and video ends up in one gallery you can scroll through over breakfast.
For a surprise 40th or 50th, go live a week or two before and send the link to friends and family, but not to the birthday person. Ask for the old stuff: school photos, the uni years, the holiday nobody talks about. Start the photo wall on a laptop plugged into the telly and those come round first as people arrive, before the party's own photos take over (the wall shows the newest 100). All of them stay in the gallery.
At kids' parties, the other parents get the best shots
You spent the party pouring squash and hunting for the pass-the-parcel music. The parents standing by the soft-play netting got the photos. Send them the link in the class WhatsApp group once everyone's home, and the pictures of your child come to you at full size rather than as a squashed forward.
The 1am kitchen counts
The photos everyone talks about the next day are the kitchen at one in the morning, the conga down the hallway, the friend asleep on the pile of coats. Nobody uploads those at the time, and the phone that's always on 2% wouldn't manage it anyway. The link keeps working after the party, so the next-morning reminder brings them in.
18ths, 21sts, graduations and the rest
The same code works for an 18th in the function room above a pub, a 21st, a graduation party in the garden, New Year's Eve, a family reunion where half the cousins have never met, or a quinceañera or sweet sixteen with the whole extended family in the room. Older relatives just point their camera at the code; nobody has to sign up for anything.
Step by step
Running it on the night
1
Put it in the invite
Drop the ready-made invite line into the party group chat or the Facebook event. For a surprise, use a group the birthday person isn't in.
2
One sign where the drinks are
Everyone passes the drinks table or the cake at some point, so that's where the A5 sign goes. For a sit-down meal, add an A6 card to each table. Plug a laptop into the TV and open the photo wall, and it does the reminding for you.
3
A quick word before the candles
Whoever's doing the speech can read the one-line MC message just before the cake comes out. It's the moment everyone has their phone in their hand anyway.
4
The morning after
Send the reminder message around lunchtime, once people are up. When the photos have stopped arriving, download the originals, each with the real date it was taken. Going live includes a year online from the day you pay; after that it renews automatically each year unless you cancel.
Stupidly simple
One QR code. That's the whole setup.
Print the table card or put the code up on a screen. Guests point their phone camera at it and the upload page opens in the browser, so there's nothing to install and nobody has to sign up. Every photo and video lands in one gallery, exactly as the phone saved it.
Can friends add old photos before a surprise birthday party?
Yes. Go live early and share the link with everyone except the birthday person. Old photos go in like new ones, and a phone photo of a printed photo works fine. On the night, start the photo wall early on a laptop connected to the TV: the old photos come round before the party's own photos take over, and everyone can scroll back through all of them in the gallery.
Is it OK for a children's party, with other families' kids in the photos?
The gallery sits behind one private link, and it reaches whoever you send it to. It's never listed on Google, there's no public feed, and Keepcove never emails your guests. If a parent asks you to take a photo down, sign in with the email you created the gallery with and delete it yourself.
The function room has hardly any signal. Will it still work?
Guests need a connection to upload, so a basement bar with one bar of signal will slow things down, and the venue Wi-Fi helps if there is some. Nothing is lost, though: the link keeps working after the party, so whatever doesn't go up on the night can be added from home the next day.
Can guests see everyone else's photos during the party?
Yes. Anyone with the link can open the gallery and scroll through it as it fills, and videos play when you tap them. Seeing other people's photos come in is a good nudge for the quieter guests.
Someone at your party will take the photo of the night.
Set the gallery up tonight, free, and send the invite text with the party details. You only pay when you're ready to go live.
